What Is a Chimney Chase Cover?
A chase cover is a metal cover that sits on top of a prefabricated or factory-built chimney, designed to seal off the top of a chimney chase and protect it from the elements.
Why It’s Important:
1. Prevents Water Damage
Without a proper chase cover, rainwater can pool at the top of your chimney and leak into the interior walls, causing rust, mold, wood rot, and costly structural damage.
2. Protects the Flue System
It helps keep water, animals, and debris from entering the chimney flue and damaging the firebox, liner, or gas components.
3. Stops Rust & Stains
Old or cheap galvanized covers rust over time and can leave streaky rust stains on the chimney siding. We install stainless steel or copper chase covers that resist rust and look clean for years.
